MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
SHRI RAM COLLEGE OF COMMERCE
AND AKS INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE |

This Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") is entered into as of April 1st, 2010 (the "Effective Date"), by and between Shri Ram College of Commerce, located at New-Delhi (hereinafter referred to as SRCC) and AKS Institute of Management Excellence, located at Noida ,U.P.(hereinafter referred to as AKSIME), in recognition of the mutual benefits of cultural and scholarly interaction between the two institutions. In consideration of the premises and of the mutual agreements contained herein, SRCC and AKSIME hereby agree as follows:
Background & Objective
SRCC and AKSIME share an entrepreneurial tradition, set up by business families, to constantly reinvent them in searching the best that is available in collaborative space to achieve excellence in all spheres of academic activity along with growth. In line with these overall objectives, AKSIME and SRCC agree to establish a cooperation agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth herein. In recognition of the common academic interest shared by AKSIME and SRCC, the objective of this agreement is to establish, maintain, and enhance educational interaction between these two institutions.
This agreement will be administered jointly by AKSIME and SRCC.
SRCC and AKSIME collaborate together by pooling the resources at their disposal to achieve highest levels of academic excellence for their mutual as well as national benefit such that new benchmarks are created in the areas of furthering frontiers of knowledge and its dissemination.
AKSIME and SRCC have agreed on the following terms for academic collaboration between two institutions, effective as of the date of signature.
Exchange of Faculty Members
- AKSIME and SRCC will promote contact and co-operation between their faculty members. It is to be emphasised that contact and co-operation between faculty members creates a strong basis for the development of joint teaching, joint research, development and exchange of teaching materials including case development and case writing.
- Under this agreement, AKSIME can contact SRCC faculty members and invite them to teach graduate and undergraduate courses at the terms and conditions to be specified by AKSIME to the concerned faculty members. Similarly, SRCC can request AKSIME faculty members and invite them to teach in professional and undergraduate courses at the terms and conditions to be specified by SRCC to the concerned faculty members.
- The expertise of the faculty at both the institutions shall be available to each other with the permission of there respective heads of institutions.The institutions may permit their respective faculty members to be associated with each other as Guest or Visiting or Adjunct faculty .The release of the faculty members under the exchange program will be worked out and facilitated by the Heads of both institutions.
- AKSIME will facilitate the involvement of its International faculty in handling sessions or giving special talks/seminars for SRCC students/faculty.
Curriculum Development & Academic Collaboration
- AKSIME is launching a BBA programme from the academic session 2010 or 2011. SRCC will be an active academic collaborator in the development of BBA curriculum. SRCC will nominate faculty members on the BBA Academic Advisory Committee to help AKSIME in the development of the BBA curriculum and the conduct of the programme.
- The Principal of SRCC will be the Chairman of the BBA Academic Advisory Committee.
- For the first two years of the AKSIME BBA programme, the SRCC principal will help in identifying a Dean amongst the SRCC faculty as per AKSIME 's criteria and release him/her for two years on deputation to AKSIME . AKSIME will bear the full salary and other benefits and give additional deputation allowance to the concerned faculty.
- SRCC will permit its faculty members to participate in the teaching of BBA courses. The terms and conditions will be determined by AKSIME on case to case basis.

SRCCwill help in AKSIME evolve,develop and improve the curriculum at undergraduate as well as post graduate level of education delivery with the objective of making it a state of the art for students.This will be a continuous ongoing process.
Pedagogy and Research and resource Sharing
- The innovations at both the institutions in pedagogy will be shared with each other without any financial implications.
- Both the institutions agree to colaborate togethor for the development and writing of case studies.The faculty of both institutions will be encouraged to colaborate in this endeavor outside their regular duties .Financial implications relating to industry visists travel etc will be borne by AKSIME.
- Both institutions will undertake research studies jointly. These studies will be published as joint working papers/books or will be sent to research journals by respective faculty members with credit to respective institutions .The financial expenditure will be borne by AKSIME.
- For the purpose of research studies databases and library resources of both institutions will be freely accessible to each other. SRCC faculty and students will have access to the AKSIME library. Similarly, AKSIME faculty and students would have access to SRCC library. The Databases subscribed by AKSIME may be made available to SRCC students as per the details to be worked out later.
- a) Both institutions agree to organize workshops, seminars and conferences which would be of national as well as international level. The financial and intellectual resources in this regard would be put together by both the institutions on case to case basis.
b) AKSIME leaves it open to sponsor partially or fully the seminars, workshops and seminars organized by SRCC as and when it deems fit.
General
- This MoU does not affect the ability of either institution to enter into similar agreements and exchange programs with other universities.
- This agreement shall become effective on the April 1st, 2010 and shall remain valid thereafter for five years with an automatic renewal; however, if either institution desires, it may be terminated at any time after the first six months by giving six months' prior written notice to the other.
- Two originals of this MOU will be prepared in English. They will be signed by the appropriate university officials from the participating institutions. Each of the institutions will retain for its records one original.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have signed this MoU under seal as of the Effective Date set forth above, and each signatory warrants that he or she has the full authority to sign and enter into this MoU on behalf of the institution he or she purports to represent.
